Goodluck Jonathan declares state of emergency in Borno,Yobe and Adamawa

President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria today declared a state emergency in 3 Nigerian states(Borno,Yobe and Adamawa).
This is because of the spate of terrorist activities in the Northern part of the country. The President said the unrest in those states caused by these terrorist attacks made it imperative for him to  invoke Section 305,subsection 1 of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria.
However, the Governors and political office holders in these states will still remain in office even though the military has been authorized to take over the security of the 3 states.
