The Home Office of the United Kingdom confirmed that it will demand £3000 refundable bond from citizens of high risk countries who apply to visit the country from November 2013.The countries regarded as high risk are Nigeria,Ghana,India,Pakistan,Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Britain said in a statement on Monday that it will commence the "Pilot" scheme despite its condemnation and threats of retaliation by the affected countries. The Home Office claims the scheme will focus on overstayers of their visas.
The scheme will apply to visitor visas and if successful, will be applied on an intelligence led basis on any country.
Some citizens of these affected contries believe the scheme is discriminatory, hence racist while some other citizens believe it is high time these affected countries developed their countries so much so that the citizens will have no reason whatsoever to visit the United Kingdom.
Some other people believe the Brits are considering this scheme because their economy is cash strapped and the refundable bond will boost economic activities in the country while these visitors are still on holiday but the Home Office claims that the "pilot" scheme is a step they are taking to make sure their immigration system is more selective, bringing down net migration from hundreds of thousands to tens of thousands while still welcoming the brightest and best to Britain.
I personally think this is a wake up call for the governments of these countries to get things straight by firstly providing the basic amenities(Good Roads,Water and Electricity) to its citizens as tackling corruption which hinders development while they work on other things such as education, job creation, women empowerment, healthcare and so on.The Lawmakers should think again about the future of the countries and for once be sensible. If Britain did not get things right at some point in their history, will a lot of people want to go there and never leave??

The greediness in those that are
presently seating in Aso Rock as at today is so huge that they do not
see this as an insult to their office and personality . Am from the
N-Delta like the good for nothing President of Nigeria and if I demand
that GEJ should honorably resign from the presidency because of this
insult ,my fellow N-Delta brothers and sisters back home will wake up
from their sleep to call me anti-Niger Delta ,because they don't know
and they do not care to know the degree of the insult that this UK
policy has on the good people of Niger Delta home and abroad .
Nigeria is spending billions of pounds from the country's foreign
reserves in keeping the commonwealth community running even though
Nigerians are suffering back home and no body is complaining . If there
is any country in the commonwealth community that must discriminate
against Nigeria it must not or never be the UK that Nigeria has being
feeding for almost one and a half century now that will be doing suck
unspeakable act . So therefore ,any Nigerian government that accept
this insult is absolutely not feet to lead Nigeria ,withdrawing
commonwealth membership is something that does not need the unnecessary
debate of the Nigerian houses of thieves as well so no one should apply
that game Source:
