CANADA-POLICE CRACKS DOWN ON CYBER BULLYING IN HALIFAX


Canadian police have a lead that finally paid off.  They arrested two men on Thursday related to a case involving a teenager who died in April after a suicide attempt.  Her family believed that her suicide was a direct result of cyber bullying that had gone on for months prior to her death.  A police statement did not include many details concerning the arrests..Continue..
Rehtaeh Parsons, 17, from Halifax, Nova Scotia, was taken off life support in the spring after trying to commit suicide.  Her parents stated that the suicide followed months of unrelenting harassment which included lewd photographs posted online of what she claimed was the result of a sexual assault in November 2011.  Pictures of the alleged assault circulated among her classmates' cellphones and on various social media sites.
