SYRIAN PRESIDENT WARNS THE UNITED STATES

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad warned the United States not to take military action against his country following threats by the United Kingdom and the United States to seriously respond if it emerges Syria used chemical weapons last week.

The Syrian government has since denied the use of Chemical weapons, blaming the rebels instead.

Russian newspaper,Izvestia quoted President Bashar saying failure awaits the US if it launches any attack against Syria. He said "America has taken part in many wars but could not once achieve its political goals for which the wars were started. Yes, it is true, the great powers can wage wars but can they win them?"

A convoy of United Nations weapon Inspectors are on their way to the Syrian capital to investigate the alleged use of Chemical weapons by the Syrian government.

US Defense Secretary,Chuck Hagel said Pentagon might move Naval forces close to Syria so as to be ready to strike if President Obama approves of it.

However, there are reports that the US Navy has already sent a 4th warship armed with ballistic missiles into the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
