Edward Snowden's Father Obtains Visa To Visit Russia

Lon Snowden,the father of NSA leaker(Edward) says he has secured a visa to visit his son in Russia,the Associated Press Reported.

He has not provided details about his travel plans but he intends to discuss how Edward could fight espionage charges. "As a father, I want my son to come home if I believe that the justice system ... is going to be applied correctly," Lon Snowden said.

Edward Snowden,a former technical contractor of the United States and former employee of the Central Agency recently leaked top-secret US surveillance program.He took off to Hong Kong for the fear of his life and later to Russia in the spring of 2013 after leaking these details to the public.He has since been charged by the US government for violating the Espionage Act.

--> He is an American citizen but his passport has been cancelled because his disclosures rank among the most significant NSA security breaches in the history of the United States.He was granted temporary Asylum in Russia and that prompted the US President,Barrack Obama to cancel his meeting with Russian President,Vladimir Putin next month.
