US AND RUSSIA REACH AGREEMENT ON SYRIA CHEMICAL WEAPONS

The United states and Russia on Saturday said they have reached a deal to get rid of Syria's chemical weapons.

US Secretary of States John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister have been in talks for three days in Geneva Switzerland concerning Syria's possession of Chemical weapons.The Syrian Government according to the designed framework must submit a comprehensive list of its chemical weapons stockpile and international inspectors must be on ground no later than November.

President Obama sees this framework as an important step towards the goal of moving the weapons under international control for destruction.However,the United States is ready to launch a targeted strike against Syria if it fails to comply with the framework.

BARRACK OBAMA LEAVES NY SERVER WITH 52% TIP

Everytime i go into a restaurant,i try my best to tip anyone who serves me but the truth is that i do the math in my head before tipping.President Obama stunned me by leaving a New York server with 52% tip.

The leader of the free world President Barack Obama has done something only great men do ... he tipped his server ON TOP of already added gratuity. He DOUBLE TIPPED!

Obama stopped for lunch in Rochester, NY Thursday at a little deli called Magnolia's. It was widely reported that the Prez ate a grilled cheese and some cream of tomato soup. Big stuff.

But what you didn't know ... Obama not only bought lunch for his secret service men (the ones who checked the place for WMD's before hand) ... he also double tipped his waiter, like a champ.

TMZ obtained a copy of the receipt ... his total bill for 9 people was $89.84. The restaurant added a 20% tip for the large party -- $16.64 -- but Obama felt more needed to be done. He gave an additional $30.

In total, B.O. left a 52% tip.

HOSNI MUBARAK TO BE PLACED UNDER HOUSE ARREST AFTER RELEASE

Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will be released from Prison today as ordered by an Egyptian Court.He faces charges of complicity in the killing of protesters during the uprising that got him ousted in 2011.

Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison last year for failing to prevent the killing of  the protesters but a court  accepted his appeal earlier this year and ordered retrial.

US SUSPENDS MILITARY AID TO EGYPT

 Although the Obama administration has not publicly said the Egyptian military takeover was a coup,it is temporarily suspending its disbursement of most military aid,delivery of weapons to the Egyptian military and some form of economic aid to the Egyptian government.This comes after the Egyptian military ousted Mohammed Morsi,the democratically elected President.

There have been condemnations from world leaders because of this military takeover and US President,Barrack Obama also cancelled his planned visit to Egypt.There have also been nationwide protests in Egypt since the takeover as the loyalists of the ousted President torched down government buildings,churches and other institutions to demonstrate their anger.They want democrary and not military rule which has always been the order of the day in Egypt.

The Office of US Sen.Patrick Leahy,head of the appropriations state and foreign operations sub-committee confirms that military aid to Egypt has been cut off...The Beast reports.

The Egyptian aid on hold includes:

- The Apache Helicopters which the Egyptian Govt already paid for
- Economic support funds for programs that will benefit the Egyptian govt
- $1.3billion in military aid

World Leaders Condemn Attacks In Egypt

US President Barrack Obama has cancelled his planned visit to Egypt next month.This comes after
violence erupted around the country claiming more than 600 lives.Egyptian authorities gave the police the go ahead to protect themselves by using deadly force as they move to restore security in the country.

Supporters of the deposed President,Mohammed Morsi torched down two government buildings in a place called Giza.

Canada's Foreign minister John Baird said the Military and the Muslim brotherhood should sit down and settle their problems amicably while President Obama cancelled his trip as earlier stated.Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan on the other hand wants the United Nations' security council to deliberate on the situation of things in Egypt.

Egypt is the most populous Arab country with a lot of cultural heritage so that alone amongst many other reasons makes it imperative for the world to keep an eye on the situation of things there.

EGYPT DECLARES ONE MONTH STATE OF EMERGENCY

The Egyptian Government has declared a one month State of emergency across the country in its effort to enforce security.This comes after the nationwide clashes between the supporters of the deposed President, Mohammed Morsi and the security forces which left well over 235 people dead including 43 policemen and 2000 wounded.

Morsi,the first democratically elected Egyptian President was overthrown by the military after about a year in office.This has caused several demonstrations all over Egypt and now the whole story had changed due to the use of force and firepower by the Egyptian security forces.

The Egyptian Central Bank has instructed the commercial banks in all affected arrears to close their places of business.The Landmark Giza Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum too were closed as a precaution

Inadequate Money Laundering Checks By GT Bank Attracts UK Fine

The United Kingdom-based Financial Conduct Authority has fined the UK subsidiary of the Guaranty Trust Bank over £500,000 for failing to do thorough anti-money laundering checks on its potential clients from high-risk countries.

The FCA said on Friday that between May 2008 and July 2010, the bank had failed to assess potential money-laundering risks, screen customers against sanction lists, establish the purpose of the accounts being opened in their London branch or review the activity of “high risk” accounts, Reuters’ report said.

Guaranty Trust Bank opened a UK office in 2008 offering retail and wholesale banking to private and corporate clients, according to the regulator.

Specifically, the FCA said in a statement that it had levied a £525,000 fine on the UK subsidiary of the bank after it looked at the bank’s systems as part of a wider review into anti-money laundering controls among banks.

A similar report by the Financial Times quoted the regulator as saying that the bank was not rigorous enough in pressing potential customers on their sources of wealth..Continue..

LARGEST JAPANESE WARSHIP SINCE WW II EMERGES

Japan on Tuesday launched Izumo,its largest warship since World War II.It's said to be 820 foot long and capable of carrying 14 helicopters.The ship however cannot carry planes because it lacks the catapult necessary for seaborne take off.Japanese officials as reported on time.com confirms the Warship will be used exclusively for disaster and rescue missions— in the aftermath of a tsunami, perhaps — as well as for responding to “various contingencies in waters near Japan,”

OBAMA CANCELS MEETING WITH RUSSIAN PRESIDENT

The President of the United States Of America,Barrack Obama has cancelled his plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin next month.

The cancellation stems from the fact that Russia granted temporary Asylum to NSA leaker,Edward Snowden.If you recall,i posted how Edward Snowden disclosed secrets about the American and British surveillance programs on their citizens.

He(Snowden) took off to Hong Kong immediately after he made the secrets known to the public and thereafter went to Russia where he spent about a month in the transit area of the Moscow Airport before finally getting temporary Asylum in Russia.He has since relocated from the Airport to a secret location.
